Danilo Dixon is the hairstylist and best friend to Gwen Stefani. The creator of the iconic styles in Lady Gaga’s Telephone video and Global Ambassador for Pantene, he has had over 30 years’ experience in the hair styling industry.
His hair journey began at Vidal Sassoon where he was invited into the industry by the brands head trainers. He then went on to become more creative, using his talent and imagination at John Dellaria New York. The next step for him was becoming vice-president and artistic director at Oribe, a place he says: “where super hair careers were created alongside supermodels.”
Since then Danilo Dixon is a familiar face and sought after stylist among the stars, having worked with the likes of Natalie Portman, Katy Perry, Anne Hathaway, Dita Von Teese, Scarlet Johansson, Cate Blanchett and a whole host of other celebrities seeking the Danilo Dixon treatment. When asked who his most memorable clients were he lists working on Mars Attacks!, the Absolut Versace ad by Herb Ritts and creating Rooney Mara’s transformation in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo as some of his favourite creative ventures. Fans of America’s Next Top Model would also be interested to know that Danilo Dixon was the hairstylist on seasons three and four of the hit show starring Tyra Banks as head judge.
Being an ambassador for Pantene, Danilo Dixon works very closely with the institution in coming up with new ideas for the future of hair care and styling. He even uses Pantene products on best friend and client Gwen Stefani keeping her signature platinum blonde hair nourished and healthy.
With Ms. Stefani having her roots done every 10 to 20 days, Danilo Dixon uses the Pantene Restore Beautiful Lengths collection to keep Gwen’s do polished and perfect. Having worked with Gwen for over 20 years Danilo Dixon says he has used the Pantene Restore Beautiful Masks before and he “still use(s) it because it’s so incredible.” Danilo Dixon also gives great advice on incorporating runway and celebrity looks into our everyday lives saying: “Everyone is an individual and it’s important to remember that… You have to personalise the trend to suit who you are and your personal style.”
